We have been supporting KidsOut, the annual event to support disadvantaged and disabled children, throughout the UK.

The Kids Out team joined up with Kirkcudbright Rotary here in the Stewartry with children from the area enjoying a day out at Cream O’ Galloway following the success of last years’ event.

Castle MacLellan agreed to support the event with a donation of £450 utilising their local chosen charity funds.

More than 60 children from across the area, from Newton Stewart to Dalbeattie, enjoyed a fun filled day taking part in various activities, from playing to climbing and an educational pond visit.

Starting with humble beginnings, the first Rotary KidsOut Day took place in 1990 when 200 children with disabilities visited Thorpe Park. Since then the National Day Out has grown almost every year, expanding across the country.

KidsOut’s annual National Day Out took more than 29,000 disadvantaged and disabled children across the country on a fun day this year, with children of all ages visiting theme parks, the seaside, zoos and other attractions with their carers, often for the first time in their lives.

Since the organisation was founded in 1990 it has helped make special memories for 651,974 young people and we are proud to play in part in this fantastic annual event.
