Production Operative Vacancies

Castle MacLellan is excited to be adding to our Production team in Kirkcudbright. We are recruiting for a number of temporary roles to support with our Christmas production. The positions will end on 3rd January 2025.

The role is based on a 46.25 hour working week, operating a 2-shift rotating pattern. The hourly rate is £11.45 per hour, plus a 14.5% shift allowance giving a total hourly rate of £13.11. This gives weekly earnings of £606.33! The working hours are as below: the working hours are as below:

  • Week 1 – 05:30 – 15:00 Monday – Friday
  • Week 2 – 15:00 – 00:30 Monday – Friday

You will ensure that products are produced and packed on the manufacturing line in accordance with requirements, ensuring quality objectives are met and high standards maintained.

As a Production Operative, some of the main duties you will be expected to carry out are (this list is not an exhaustive list):

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all machines
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all procedures e.g. – Machinery Work Instructions, CIC’s (Cleaning Instruction Cards), Allergens
  • Accurately, legibly, and competently complete paperwork relevant to department
  • Assist with training team members
  • Assist with continuous improvement

We would like to hear from candidates with previous experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, where quality and safety are required standards.

Candidates will be used to following standard operating procedures and completing repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately. Able to work quickly and methodically, applications from people with the ability to monitor production process and carry out quality checks are welcomed.

This is a supportive, but busy environment. So, you will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team, supporting your colleagues and management to achieve production results.
