We presented Blood Bikes, a charity which provides a vital and lifesaving service across South West Scotland with two new, state of the art motorbikes.
Dumfries & Galloway Blood Bikes works to deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies between hospitals and healthcare sites in South West Scotland and beyond.
One of the bikes has been named Lady Mac by the charity in a nod to the history of Castle MacLellan, which derives its name from the MacLellan family who built the Castle in Kirkcudbright.
Elaine, our general manager presented the bikes and spoke about why we chose to support Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes. She said, “This is a rural area and the Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes carry out a vital service given the long distances people often have to travel to get to hospital. We all think this is a wonderful charity and the volunteers do a fantastic job.”
